The cast of Spider-Man: Brand New Day was revealed, featuring Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo and Sadie Sink in a role Marvel keeps secret.
Marvel Studios revealed the full cast of “Spider-Man: Brand New Day”, which marks the return of the web-slinger to the big screen four and a half years after “Spider-Man: No Way Home”. The film, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (“Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”), premieres on July 29, 2026.
Tom Holland and Zendaya lead a cast full of surprises
Tom Holland reprises his role as an adult Peter Parker who, having voluntarily erased himself from everyone’s memory, dedicates himself to fighting a new wave of crime in New York. Zendaya returns as Michelle Jones (“MJ”) and Jacob Batalon reprises his role as Ned Leeds.
The studio also confirmed the participation of Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk and Michael Mando as Mac Gargan/Scorpion. They are joined by Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Charlie Cox reprising his role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Marvin Jones III as Tombstone and Liza Colon-Zayas as Detective Jean DeWolff.
The mystery of Sadie Sink’s role and a notable absence
One of the biggest enigmas of the cast is Sadie Sink’s character, whose identity the studio kept secret. There is speculation that she could be playing Jean Grey, which would mark the official entry of mutants into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When asked about the secrecy surrounding her role, the actress stated: “It wasn’t that hard”.
Among the most talked-about absences is J.K. Simmons, who will not reprise his iconic role as J. Jonah Jameson in this installment, after having played the character in previous Spider-Man films. With this cast, Marvel Studios aims to revitalize the Spider-Man franchise and introduce new connections with the rest of its cinematic universe.
